Conference, 2004 The Society wishes to encourage postgraduate students to attend its Annual Conference, and is continuing its policy of offering special rates for both the Conference and for membership. In addition, arrangements have been made for a further year to assist with their expenses for travel to the Conference. Postgraduate students are invited to apply for a contribution towards their travel expenses to the President of the Society (Professor Michael Sheringham, Department of French, Royal Holloway, University of London, Egham, Surrey, TW20 0EX; E-mail: chair@sfs.ac.uk) before Friday 7h May 2004 This year funds will be limited to those who, without such assistance, would be unable to attend the conference. Applicants should state the reason for their request for financial assistance, provide details of the likely cost of their journey, and enclose a brief note of support from their supervisor. All postgraduate students should complete and return their Conference Booking form to the Conference Officer in the usual way. All postgraduate students attending the Conference are invited to an informal gathering at 2.30 pm on Monday 5th July in order to meet the President and each other.
