SFS
50th ANNIVERSARY CONFERENCE - 2009
This will take
place at St Anne’s College, Oxford University from 29 June
- 1 July 2009.
In 2009, the Society
for French Studies is returning to Oxford for its 50th anniversary
conference. The event will be held in St Anne’s College where the
first SFS conference took place in 1960.

The
2009 programme features panels on a wide variety of topics, including
'After Aimé Césaire’,
‘In and Around the Encyclopédie’,
'Female Avant-Gardists’, ‘Nostalgia, Place
and Displacement’ and ‘Voices in Medieval French Narrative’.
There
are four plenary speakers:

is provided in St Anne’s College or in nearby Wadham College for those delegates who require it.
The cost is included in the global residential conference fee.

Postgraduate rate:
A subsidised
fee is available for postgraduates attending the full conference. Please use the registration form available here.

may apply for a grant for travel within the UK. If you wish to apply for a grant,

The deadline is 1 June 2009.
Retired rate:
A subsidised
fee is available for retired delegates who are members of the Society for French Studies and who are attending the full
conference. Please use the registration form available here.
